Qubit Readout Module

COMPATIBLE WITH:

The Qubit Readout Module (QRM) is specifically engineered for precise readout pulse generation and signal acquisition in the baseband regime from DC  to 400 MHz. By replacing the roles of conventional pulse generators, digitizers, and readout analyzers, the QRM combines measurement workflows within one module.

QRM key highlights

Multiplexed readout of up to 6 frequencies enables simultaneous acquisition across multiple qubits, ensuring scalable experiments with high precision and reliability.
Arbitrarily long pulse and integration times constructed directly from sequencer instructions, delivering flexible spectroscopy and advanced measurement protocols.
On‑board averaging and binning of measurement results with up to three million IQ bins provide high‑resolution statistics while reducing streaming overhead.
Four programmable marker outputs provide precise synchronization and control of external instruments, enabling coordinated workflows across complex experimental setups.
Real-time control flow with threshold-based branching enables conditional experiment execution and dynamic interaction with external instruments through marker outputs.
All-in-one instrument combining oscilloscope, lock-in amplifier, homodyne detection scheme, and TTL triggering enables versatile measurement workflows within a single, fully integrated platform.

Using the QRM in the Qblox Cluster

Scalable QRM Cluster Integration

The Qubit Readout Module (QRM) operates within the Qblox Cluster mainframe, offering seamless integration and scalability. A single 19” rack Cluster unit can accommodate up to 20 QRM modules, providing density for up to 40 output and 40 input baseband channels.

Seamless Cross-Module Integration

Qblox’s modular architecture allows interoperability between the QRM and other modules, including the Qubit Readout RF Module (QRM-RF), Qubit Control Modules (QCM and QCM‑RF II), Qubit Readout and Control (QRC), and the Qubit Timetag Module (QTM).

SYNQ & LINQ

Using the proprietary SYNQ and LINQ interconnect protocols, all modules communicate and run in synchrony. This architecture ensures precise alignment of control, readout, and processing, allowing users to configure a control stack that matches their quantum system and supports high‑fidelity operation.

Qblox cluster is certainly one of the most important elements in our new spin qubit lab. The easy-to-use and compact system allows us to set up a spin qubit control system within a couple of hours. We have used it for the RF reflectometry readout of our first in-house quantum dot! I look forward to getting more exciting results by using the Qblox cluster. What I also appreciate is the good communication and friendship between Qblox and the customers."
