NVQLink

NVQLink is NVIDIA's open system architecture for tightly coupling quantum processors and their control systems with GPU-accelerated computing. It provides the low-latency, high-throughput interconnect needed for real-time workloads such as quantum error correction decoding, calibration, and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms.

Why it matters. As quantum computing moves toward hybrid quantum-classical workflows, the interface between the quantum control system and classical computing resources becomes critical. NVQLink defines a standardised way to connect a quantum control system to GPU-accelerated computing resources, with CUDA-Q as the programming layer on top. It is qubit-agnostic, supporting superconducting, trapped-ion, photonic, and spin-based systems. This makes latency-critical tasks such as error correction decoding and real-time calibration practical at scale. It is part of the broader trend toward treating quantum processors as accelerators within a larger heterogeneous computing environment, similar to how GPUs are used alongside CPUs today.

How it connects. Qblox is a controller partner in the NVQLink ecosystem. The Qblox Cluster's deterministic timing and low-latency feedback architecture provide the control-side foundation for NVQLink integration, connecting Qblox-controlled quantum processors to GPU-accelerated resources for real-time decoding and hybrid workflows.
