The Qubit Timetag Module (QTM) enhances the Cluster by providing both digital signal generation and acquisition, specifically optimized for optically addressable qubits. Its output facilitates fast and precisely timed TTL signals for direct and precise laser control. On the input side, a configurable analog threshold and windowing with photon counting and time tagging functionalities, ensure a fast and reliable optical readout process. This seamless integration of signal generation and acquisition within a single control instrument guarantees inherent synchronization, rendering triggers redundant.
The QTM houses 8 independent pulse sequence cores, each independently routable to an input/output channel. This architecture provides significant flexibility in real-time pulse sequencing, allowing for conditional feedback based on the measured photon count. Such adaptability enables the QTM to effectively coordinate the continuation of the control sequence, making it a highly versatile tool for quantum computing experiments, particularly for optically addressable qubits.
