As a Talent Acquisition Partner at Qblox, Idil plays a pivotal role in helping the company grow by finding and securing top talent for our Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams. Her passion for fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment makes her an integral part of Qblox's success.

How did you come to join Qblox?

Just before graduating from my master's, I was looking for a challenge in a high-paced, innovative, and passionate environment, then I saw the Talent Acquisition Partner ad on LinkedIn and wrote a cover letter that explains my excitement and why I am the perfect fit, then I applied. It was the perfect job description for me, combination of talent acquisition in a high-tech environment and opportunity to build from scratch, for a technology that will be our future.

What do you do at Qblox?

With just one sentence, as a Talent Acquisition Partner, I help our teams to grow! Qblox grows rapidly and we have big goals to reach, our power lies in our dynamic and ambitious team, and I help to find the best talent for our Marketing, Sales and Operations Team. We collaborate with the teams to find their next teammate, and our new colleague at Qblox.

‍As part of the People Team, how do you interact with other teams and other departments?

As the people team, we interact with each team daily and it is so fun! Since hiring is a team sport, we are also collaborating with other teams to grow them. Each team is unique and has their own dynamics and team-specific culture, and while hiring together, we became a huge team with them and have our own dynamic to find the best talent.

What is your educational background?‍

I was always curious about how the human mind works, why we do the things we do and what causes the variety in our personalities. To figure that out, I studied psychology in my bachelor's, in Turkey.‍After working in different organizations, from technology scale-ups to corporate ones, I wanted to deep dive into the underlying dynamics of an organization's people aspect from a psychological perspective, therefore I studied my master's in Social and Organizational Psychology in Leiden University.‍

What does a typical day look like for you?

I always like to start my day fresh, checking mails and slack messages with a cup of coffee. After that, each day is unique! While sometimes my calendar is filled with interviews, other times I have exciting project meetings where we brainstorm and share our ideas, or training that we teach and learn at the same time. If the weather is nice, I also love going on a walk after lunch when I am at the office, to enjoy the green, beautiful Delftpark. Of course, I also don't forget to put some focus time on myself to listen to music and fully focus on things I am working on currently!

What do you like most about your role?

I love that I am able to take ownership and be my best version of myself by adding creativity to my daily work. Every day I feel that we are a team, and we work towards the same goal, both as People and Qblox Team! We have big goals and a lot to do, things to improve and build from scratch and it is very exciting and vibrant to be part of. I see the results of my input immediately, and I never feel alone while working. Working with highly educated professionals from different backgrounds and perspectives gives me the opportunity to learn something new and keep growing every day.

What’s one thing you would like a new joiner to know about working at Qblox?

That we are a passionate, diverse team! We are a team of 100, all of us have different backgrounds, coming from different countries (we have 27 different nationalities), speaking different languages and even eating different foods for lunch. Along with the food, everyone brings their unique perspective and it is great to be part of it. Our biggest common ground is our passion for technology, and when it comes to our excitement for the things we will achieve, we are all looking from the same perspective and share the same feelings!
